Hi, I'm Gus.
Short for Gustav. I live in Sweden, and the guy on the right is the cartoon version of me. He has better hair.
I'm a senior network engineer, 10+ years in network engineering and security. By day I design and secure networks. Anyone can ask an AI for a script. Mine has to run every day without me, at scale, which is the hard part. Every headline, every post, so the numbers in these videos are counted, not guessed. That's where the headline counter and the social scroll in the videos come from.
Off the clock: family, hockey and training. And collecting data. I'm a hoarder of useless information. My database knows how many headlines were written about SpaceX last Tuesday. I don't know why I need that. Neither does my family.
I animate everything myself in my studio at home. No AI-generated images, no stock footage. And I read the company's own filings, so the numbers in the video are theirs, not somebody's guess about them.
This channel is my own investing journey, animated. I've been investing since 2010. Nothing here is advice. Not on what to buy, and not on how to go about it either. It's simply how I do it.
What gets under my skin is a certain kind of news. A successful CEO with a big idea announces something shiny: a target, a date, a whole new market. Nobody explains how the numbers get there, and nobody asks. The big finance sites turn it into a stack of headlines, each one a little more certain than the last. Then the date passes, the target quietly moves, and the small investor is left holding the bill.
To be clear, if you buy, that's your call and your responsibility. Same goes for me. I've bought into the hype myself and got burned, and that one was on me. Younger me was a lot more naive. These days I think in years, not weeks. But I'm still allowed to be annoyed at the pressure, the goals that were never realistic, and the promises nobody ever explains.
So I do my homework in public. Humor is how I deal with everything, wishful math included. When a plan only works if nothing ever goes wrong, I read the plan out loud. Usually in their own words.
